WhatsMiner price list 2026: every model from the M10S to the M79S, and what each is worth

MicroBT has released well over fifty WhatsMiner models since 2018. People still search for the price of almost all of them, from the 2018 M10S to the M79S rack unit that launched last December. The honest answer varies from "about the cost of the shipping" to "a used car".

This page is the reference: every WhatsMiner generation in one table, what each model sells for new and used in September 2026, what it earns at today's hashprice, and the electricity price below which it stops making sense. Reading a WhatsMiner model number in ten seconds

MicroBT has never published a naming key, but its own product lists follow a consistent pattern:

• First digit = generation. M1x and M2x (2018–19), M3x (2020), M5x (2022–23), M6x (2023–24), M7x (late 2025 onward).
• Second digit = cooling, mostly. 0 is air (M30, M50, M60, M70). 3 is usually hydro (M33, M53, M63, M73). 6 is usually immersion (M36, M56, M66, M76). There are exceptions: the M72 is a three-phase air unit, the M78 is immersion and the M79 is a rack hydro unit.
• S, +, ++ = better chip bins within a generation. Each step typically improves efficiency by 1–1.5 J/TH. The M70 is 14.5 J/TH, the M70S 13.5, and the M73S+ 12.5.

Every generation, one table

Efficiency is joules per terahash (lower is better). Break-even is the electricity price at which the machine's revenue exactly covers its power, at the current hashprice of $0.0409 per TH/s per day (Hashrate Index, 21 September 2026).

Specs are MicroBT's nominal figures as listed by ASIC Miner Value and Hashrate Index. Individual units ship in hashrate bins: an "M60S" can be anything from 170 to 190 TH/s. Always price the exact bin you are being offered.

What they sell for: new, direct from MicroBT

MicroBT's own online shop lists most of the range with public prices. These are the live figures on 26 September 2026, in USD, before shipping, import VAT and duties:

Paybacks assume today's hashprice holds, and they exclude pool fees, shipping and import costs. Three things stand out:

• Cheap is not the same as good value. At $460, the M30S+ is the cheapest machine MicroBT sells, and it loses money at any electricity price above five cents. Paying $744 for an M50 buys a machine that is underwater at $0.06.
• The M60S+ is mispriced against its own sibling. At $3,200 it costs more than the M60S++ ($2,180), which is faster and more efficient. There is no reason to choose the "+" over the "++".
• The M70 is the value pick at hosted rates. It has the fastest payback at $0.08 and is within half a month of the best (the M63S++ hydro) at $0.06. Its 14.5 J/TH efficiency matters most after the April 2028 halving: its break-even then falls to about 5.9 cents, against 4.3 cents for the M60.

What they sell for: EU resellers and used

Buying direct from MicroBT means shipping from Asia, paying import VAT on arrival (21% in the Netherlands, 19% in Germany) and sending warranty returns a long way. EU resellers absorb that, but the markup can be large. Mineshop.eu lists the M60 at €2,349.87 excluding VAT, about $2,680, which is more than twice MicroBT's $1,280. Its M60S is €2,899.87 and its M66S is €2,558.87.

The used market is thin and mostly asking prices rather than sold prices:

• M30S: around $200 asking on eBay US. That is roughly $2.30 per terahash, in line with Hashrate Index's figure of about $1 per TH for the whole 25–38 J/TH tier.
• M21S (55–56T): $70–75 plus $33–86 shipping. In practice, the shipping is most of what you are paying for.
• M10S: effectively no market. At 63.6 J/TH it needs electricity under 2.7 cents just to cover its own power, which is below what most industrial sites pay. Its only honest use is as a 3.5 kW space heater, which our Bitcoin heater guide covers properly.

M60 series efficiency: the question people keep asking

"WhatsMiner M60 efficiency J/TH" is one of the most searched WhatsMiner questions, because the M60 family spans four efficiency bins with overlapping names:

That 4 J/TH spread matters more than it looks. On a $0.08 hosted rate the M60 clears about $0.43 a day, while the M60S++ clears $2.26 on similar hardware. After the April 2028 halving, the M60's break-even drops to about 4.3 cents and the M60S++'s to about 5.4 cents. Only one of those is realistic hosted power.

The M70 generation, and what came after

MicroBT unveiled the M70 series at Bitcoin MENA in Abu Dhabi on 8 December 2025. It spans every cooling type:

• Air: M70 (214–236 TH/s, 14.5 J/TH), M70S (226–258 TH/s, 13.5 J/TH), and the higher-power M72 and M72S (up to 300 TH/s at 4 kW, or 6 kW overclocked).
• Hydro: M73 (470–526 TH/s), M73S (500–552) and M73S+ (540–600 TH/s at 12.5 J/TH, the most efficient WhatsMiner to date).
• Immersion: M76, M76S and M76S+ (up to 440 TH/s), and the M78/M78S (up to 522 TH/s).
• Rack hydro: M79 and M79S, at 870–1,040 TH/s and 14–20 kW. The "1.35 PH/s" figure you see advertised is the overclocked configuration.

In March 2026, Hashrate Index reported a further hydro line, the M7D and M6D: M7DS 638–702 TH/s at 13.5 J/TH, M7D 594–652 TH/s at 14.5, M6DS++ 556–610 TH/s at 15.5, all at roughly 9 kW.

You will also see an M7A / M7AS / M7AS+ on some reseller sites. We could not find these in MicroBT's own announcements. Their specs match the M73 series exactly, and one listing gives a release date that has not happened yet. Treat them as unconfirmed until MicroBT publishes them.

Owning a WhatsMiner: the practical bits

• Power: M60 and M70 air units use MicroBT's P221B/P222B power supply at 220–240 V AC, with an IEC C19 cord rated for at least 16 A. That is single-phase, but at over 3 kW it is not an ordinary household circuit. Our guide to powering a miner in the UK and EU covers the wiring. Resellers say the M72/M72S need 380–480 V three-phase, which fits their 6 kW overclock, but MicroBT has not confirmed it.
• Management: the API is off by default. Enable it in WhatsMinerTool (Remote Ctrl → Miner API Switch) after changing the default admin password. It listens on TCP port 4028.
• Firmware: LuxOS came to WhatsMiner in April 2026, starting with the M50 series. Luxor now lists the M50, M50S, M50S+, M50S++, M60 and M60S as compatible, though rollout is managed rather than self-install. Our firmware guide compares the options.
• What fails: hashboards (a single dead chip can take a voltage domain offline), fans (a fan fault stops the machine hashing) and the P221/P222 power supply (reboots under load, missing boards).
• Warranty: MicroBT's shop gives one year. It excludes unofficial firmware, overclocking and non-official power supplies, so flashing third-party firmware on a new unit is a warranty decision as well as a performance one.
